# Railway Tools for Axiom<\/p>\n
An Axiom addon for Minecraft providing advanced railway path generation tools,
\ndesigned for use in large-scale building projects such as BuildTheEarth.<\/p>\n
## Overview<\/p>\n
Railway Tools for Axiom extends Axiom’s toolset with a specialized rail path
\ncreation tool. By placing a series of control points, the tool generates smooth,
\nmathematically precise railway corridors with automatic block selection and
\norientation \u2014 eliminating the need for manual block-by-block placement.<\/p>\n
This mod was developed independently by a single author and is not affiliated
\nwith the BuildTheEarth organization.<\/p>\n
## Features<\/p>\n
### Smooth Path Generation<\/p>\n
Paths are computed using Catmull-Rom spline interpolation, producing natural
\ncurves through any number of control points. The algorithm ensures smooth
\ntangent continuity, avoiding harsh angles between segments.<\/p>\n
### Two Distinct Rail Styles<\/p>\n
Select between two independently developed placement modes directly from the
\ntool panel:<\/p>\n
**Classic** \u2014 Uses dead fire coral wall fans as centerline markers, mud brick
\nwalls as lateral supports (aligned or cornered according to the curve geometry),
\nand spruce shelves or trapdoors as curve indicators. This style provides a
\nclean, structured appearance suited to survey and planning work.<\/p>\n
**Natural** \u2014 Uses lecterns as the track centerline (replacing the center block
\nwith a pale moss block on inclined segments), gravel as lateral rails, and leaf
\nlitter with directional segment amounts for curve decoration. Diagonal
\nintersections are automatically filled with gravel and directional leaf litter.<\/p>\n
### Adaptive Block Orientation<\/p>\n
Every block is oriented according to the local path tangent and curvature.
\nLateral blocks, corner connections, curve indicators and diagonal joints are all
\ncomputed per segment to maintain geometric consistency throughout the path.<\/p>\n
### Terrain Following<\/p>\n
When the ground-snapping option is enabled, the tool searches vertically from
\neach spline point to locate the nearest solid surface, adjusting the path
\nelevation to follow existing terrain.<\/p>\n
### Configurable Density<\/p>\n
The spline sampling density is adjustable from 2 to 32 points per block. Higher
\nvalues produce smoother curves, particularly useful on tight-radius bends.<\/p>\n
### Live Preview<\/p>\n
A real-time preview is rendered before any blocks are placed. The preview uses
\nan animated opacity to distinguish it clearly from existing blocks. No changes
\nare committed until explicitly confirmed.<\/p>\n
## Usage<\/p>\n
1. Select the BTE Rail Path tool from Axiom’s tool palette
\n2. Right-click to place control points along the desired path
\n3. Adjust style, density, and ground-snapping in the tool panel
\n4. Press Enter to confirm and place the path, or Delete to remove the last point
\n5. Press Escape to clear all points and start over<\/p>\n
