# Alpha Gaia
\nThis is a **data pack**<\/u> that adds in an Alpha 1.1.2-*style* World Preset<\/u>. Since this is a data pack, **it will not be a perfect replica**<\/u>, as many features would require mod changes to do (see **Differences** below). This is just a way to get the Alpha vibes in vanilla. <\/p>\n
**This means Seeds from Alpha will not work<\/u>**. Use mods like Moderner Beta if you want to do something like that.<\/p>\n
The Mod version is simply a package for the data pack and language pack for ease of installing. <\/p>\n
## Notable Additions from Alpha:
\n– **Mobs**
\n – Only mobs from Alpha can spawn *naturally*, examples:
\n – Drowned can spawn from transforming a Zombie into one (not a *natual* spawn)
\n – Zombie Villagers can’t, because they do have separate IDs
\n – Baby Zombies can spawn though, as they have the same ID as Zombies
\n– **Structures**
\n – Only Monster Rooms spawn
\n– **World Features**
\n – Only the Foliage from Alpha will spawn
\n – Only the Ores from Alpha will spawn<\/p>\n
## Differences:
\n– **World Height**
\n – 256 instead of 128. This is more of a past limitation than a unique old feature
\n – W.I.P: Old Height Add-on
\n– **Nether**
\n – The Alpha 1.2.0 Nether is added to this, despite it not existing in Alpha 1.1.2
\n– **Caves**
\n – Can generate with water in them due to data pack limitations
\n – Less water on the surrounding surface means less water underground
\n – Can generate in bodies of water
\n– **Biome Colors**
\n – Are not identical to Alpha (e.g. grass\/water\/leaves). I tried my best to sample colors, but the foliage color just isn’t coming out the same
\n– **Stone Basins**
\n – Are not square and glitchy like in Alpha<\/p>\n
### These have been adjusted to be close to Alpha, but aren’t perfect:
\n– **Ores**
\n – Including deposits, like dirt and clay
\n– **Cave Generation**
\n– **Vegetation**
\n – Flowers, trees, pumpkins, sugarcane, cacti, etc.
\n– **Ponds\/Lakes\/Oceans**
\n– **Sandy\/Gravel “Beaches”**
\n– **Terrain Shape**<\/p>\n
