# MyColorName
\nA simple Paper plugin for **Minecraft 1.21.x and 26.1.x** that lets each player choose a nickname color through `\/mycolorname`.
\n– `tab` nicknames are recolored cleanly
\n– `chat` nicknames are recolored in chat messages
\n– `\/mycolorname` without arguments opens a **vanilla Minecraft dialog**
\n– `\/mycolorname ` applies a color directly
\n– `\/mycolorname help`, `\/mycolorname list`, and `\/mycolorname reset` are available
\n– `\/mycolorname set ` lets admins change another player
\n– `\/mycolorname all ` lets admins change every online player
\n– in-game messages automatically switch between **English and French** depending on the player’s client language
\n## Installation
\n1. Build the plugin with Gradle.
\n2. Put the jar into your Paper 1.21.x or 26.1.x server’s `plugins\/` folder.
\n3. Restart the server.
\n4. Check that `plugins\/MyColorName\/config.yml` is created.
\n## Commands
\n### `\/mycolorname`
\nOpens the color selection dialog if the sender is a player.
\n### `\/mycolorname `
\nChanges your own nickname color.

\nAll permissions below default to `true`, except the admin permission which defaults to `op`.

\n– `mycolorname.change` – change your own color with `\/mycolorname `
\n– `mycolorname.list` – list the available colors
\n– `mycolorname.reset` – reset your own color
\n– `mycolorname.admin` – change other players or all online players

\n### `allowed-colors`
\nList of colors allowed in the dialog, command, and tab completion.
\n### `respect-existing-list-name`
\n– `true`: if another plugin already set a custom tab name, MyColorName recolors it instead of replacing the text
\n– `false`: MyColorName starts from the player’s raw Minecraft name
\n## Compatibility
\nThe plugin is designed to stay simple and non-intrusive:
\n– it depends on no third-party plugin
\n– it uses native Paper\/Adventure APIs
\n– it recolors the current chat renderer instead of replacing the full format
\n– it restores tab nicknames on shutdown
\nThat makes it compatible with plugins like EssentialsX in most cases.
\n## Vanilla dialog
\nThe selection menu uses **Minecraft dialogs** supported by Paper on both 1.21.x and 26.1.x.
