# Messenger<\/p>\n

A plugin to send
\nMiniMessage formatted
\nrotating messages in chat on a scheduled interval.<\/p>\n

## Configuration<\/p>\n

– `duration`: integer
\n – Seconds between each message being sent in chat
\n – Default: `300` (5 minutes)
\n– `message-format`: string
\n – Format of the messages to be displayed to the user in chat. This
\n is used for adding a prefix or suffix to the message
\n – Supports MiniMessage
\n – Default: `[+<\/red>]<\/gray> %message%` (renders to `[+] %message%`)
\n– `debug-logging`: boolean
\n – Whether verbose logging should be printed to the console
\n – Default: `false`<\/p>\n

## Commands<\/p>\n

– `\/messenger `
\n – Main command for Messenger
\n – `\/messenger add` – Open an editor to add a new rotating message to
\n the chat.
\n – `\/messenger add ` – Add a message into the chat directly
\n – `\/messenger reload` – Reload the plugin’s configuration and
\n messages from the `messages.json` file.<\/p>\n

## Permissions<\/p>\n

– `messenger.command.messenger`
\n – Ability to run the `\/messenger` command
\n – Default: `op`<\/p>\n

## Data<\/p>\n

The plugin currently only handles two files: `config.yml` and
\n`messages.json`.<\/p>\n

The `config.yml` holds the configuration for the plugin, see
\n[Configuration](#configuration) for more details<\/p>\n

The `messages.json` holds each message to be printed into chat.
\nRemoving\/Adding a message from this list will remove\/add it from\/to the
\ngame (After `\/messenger reload` or server restart).<\/p>\n

## Message Format<\/p>\n

A message can be formatted using
\nMiniMessage. If
\n`%player%` is included in the message, it will be replaced with the
\nplayer’s username.<\/p>\n

## API<\/p>\n

The plugin offers a simple API which allows for adding new messages.<\/p>\n

To add it as a dependency if using maven, add the following to your pom.xml:<\/p>\n
