PSG.LGD claimed the decider match of Group A at the China leg of Beyond Epic to join Sparking Arrow Gaming from their group into the double elimination playoff battle.

China’s juggernaut team started the tournament with a 0-2 loss at the hands of their former carry, Wang “Ame” Chunyu, who led CDEC to an important opening victory, but while PSG.LGD recovered through the elimination round of the GSL format, CDEC couldn’t stand against SAG and were forced today to a rematch with PSG.LGD for a playoff spot.

They started the decider series with a Slark enabling draft, and although they lost the safe lane and were forced to play slower than they might have wanted, the teamfight tools provided by a five position Undying, Earthshaker and Leshrak, allowed them to overwhelm PSG.LGD before Yang “Chalice”‘ Shenyi could take the game control with his Phantom Lancer.

With one game advantage, CDEC got somewhat greedy with their picks in game two and were heavily punished for running farm dependent heroes in the support role and in the carry position. Their four position Weaver has never got the chance to farm the Aghanim’s Scepter and with a Silencer walking just with Brown Boots, CDEC’s teamfight was never a threat.

PSG.LGD hit even harder in game three, using simple to execute and deadly combos, with captain Xu “fy” Linsen on Tiny creating the setup for Lu “Maybe” Yao on invoker and Chalice on Spectre to team wipe their adversaries with almost every engagement.

Unfortunately, for CDEC  Gaming, the defeat means elimination from the tournament. For PSG.LGD, the playoff run will start tomorrow, June 26 in the upper bracket semi-final against Royal Never Give Up.
