Following the partnership with football club AS Monaco for their Dota 2 and Fortnite teams, Gambit Esports announce the signing of Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev’s Live to Win roster.

Live to Win was formed towards the end of 2020 with the aim on the $500,000 EPICENTER Online League. Despite making it only to the second division of the tournament, SoNNeikO and co stuck together and when the Dota Pro Circuit was re-installed this year, the team clinched a spot into the CIS Upper Division.

After three weeks of matches, Live to Win have a real shot at claiming a spot at the Singapore Major, as they sit on the fourth place with two wins and two losses. Ahead of what it will be their most important series in the CIS DPC League Upper Division, Live to Win got signed by the Russian organization Gambit Esports and will continue their road to the Major under the AS Monaco Gambit name.

The signing comes with a slight change of roster as well. Although neither Gambit nor Live to Win members gave any details on the matter, Rostislav “fn” Lozovoi got replaced in the mid lane by Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko, who will be playing on a stand-in basis.

With the signing of Live to Win, Gambit esports become the second CIS organization to hold two teams in the Dota Pro Circuit Regional Leagues. Much like, who fight with the main team in the Upper Division and also signed Team Generation from Lower Division, Gambit are now playing for a spot at the Major from the Upper Division and for promotion via Lower Division matches with the secondary roster.

AS Monaco Gambit, the main team will play this Sunday, February 14 versus Natus Vincere at 15:00 CET, while Gambit 2 will take on B8 in the Lower Division today, at 15:00 CET.
