After two epic upper bracket semi-finals, it was time for another elimination at the DPL-CDA Professional League Season 2 as CDEC Gaming and Invictus Gaming fought in a best-of-three to remain in the event.

Having lost to an extremely strong EHOME squad, CDEC were hoping to keep their tournament lives intact as they dropped into the lower bracket. Waiting for them would be iG, who managed to take down Sparking Arrow Gaming in the first round of lower bracket action and they would not have an easy task ahead of them.

Although they had lost to EHOME earlier in the day, CDEC were easily the favourites to take the elimination series and it showed right from the start of the game as they took complete control. With an Anti-Mage for Wang ‘Ame’ Chunyu and Guo ‘Xm’ Hongcheng on a Pugna, CDEC were relentless in their destruction, claiming 32 kills in a 31-minute game, leaving iG with only 10 before the GG call came out. CDEC then went into the next game looking to close out the series in a swift manner, dominating the early period. However, iG were not about to give up and with an amazing team fight lineup which included a Storm Spirit, Enigma and Faceless Void, they turned everything around and left CDEC in their dust.

Having tied the series at 1-1, iG were on a warpath forward as the two teams went into the decisive third game. By half an hour in, iG were almost 20,000 net worth ahead and were not giving CDEC an inch of space anywhere on the map. Even after finding a brilliant initiation with Earthshaker, CDEC could not find the opening to claw their way back into the game and iG took complete advantage of it as they ripped through their opponents to secure the series 2-1.

With that, CDEC Gaming will be eliminated from the DPL-CDA Pro League Season 2 tournament after two separate 2-1 defeats today but still manage to claim a fifth/sixth place finish. For iG, they move on to the next round in the lower bracket where they will face either PSG.LGD or Vici Gaming, who will be playing in the first of two elimination series tomorrow.
