Evil Geniuses have signed Owen “oBo” Schlatter to complete their Counter-Strike team. oBo fills the gap left behind by Ethan “Ethan” Arnold who parted ways with the team and made the move to VALORANT where he was signed to the 100 Thieves lineup.

This is oBo’s first team since he benched himself from Complexity rather unexpectedly in September 2020. The 17-year-old had been a strong performer for Jason Lake’s organization and many had been wondering where the young talent would ultimately end up. The current North American landscape wasn’t looking promising given the departure of several organizations from the region recently. It seems the departure of Ethan could not have come at a better time in terms of finding a strong replacement.

EG will be playing in Europe in the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 13 where they’ll take on Astralis, Liquid,, fnatic, and Endpoint in Group D. The event is scheduled to run from March 25th to 29th.

The lineup consisting of Ethan most recently found themselves making a group stage exit at IEM Katowice 2021 after losses to G2 and Astralis. They did, however, take one win over Gambit who would go on to win the entire event.

Ethan was the first player to leave the Evil Geniuses lineup since their acquisition from NRG in September of 2019. During his time with the lineup, Ethan played a role in helping the team win IEM Shanghai 2018, cs_summit 3, ESL One New York 2019, StarSeries i-League Season 8, BLAST Premier Spring 2020 Americas Finals, cs_summit 6 North America and ESL One Cologne 2020 North America. The former two were won under the NRG banner alongside Damian “daps” Steele who served as the teams in-game leader.
