After NAVI placed him on the bench in July 2025, jL filled in for MOUZ at 2 tournaments.<\/p>\n

The available preparation time is a central part of jL\u2019s account of the stand-in assignment. He said Vitality had not practiced much with him because of the Esports World Cup, but added that the group would train on the day of the interview and again before its first match. He described the planned work as an increase in training hours rather than as a completed period of team practice.<\/p>\n

His comments separate individual confidence from the practical work of replacing mezii. jL said Vitality have five individually strong players and included himself in that assessment. At the same time, he did not claim that the short preparation had already produced a result; his stated task was to play and perform well after learning the team\u2019s calls and the responsibilities attached to mezii\u2019s position.<\/p>\n

The tournament also gives a defined competitive consequence to the substitute role. Vitality must finish among the three highest-placed teams in its group to reach the playoffs in Portugal. jL\u2019s first match with the team therefore comes in a group stage that directly determines whether the roster continues to the later portion of BLAST Open Porto.<\/p>\n

jL outlines how he prepared for the Vitality stand-in role<\/h2>\n

jL said he had kept track of Vitality before joining the team for this event. In his description, that work included watching the roster\u2019s Esports World Cup matches and reviewing its tactical book. He also said that he knew mezii\u2019s functions, giving him a documented basis for the replacement assignment despite the limited joint training.<\/p>\n

The player\u2019s direct assessment was concise: \u201cI know what I need to do.\u201d That statement was tied to his knowledge of Vitality\u2019s tactics and of mezii\u2019s duties, not to a claim that the lineup had undergone extensive preparation. jL said the team would use the remaining time before the opener to practice.<\/p>\n

This is not jL\u2019s first period as a stand-in since leaving NAVI\u2019s active lineup. He was moved to NAVI\u2019s bench in July 2025 and subsequently played as a stand-in for MOUZ at two tournaments. In July of this year, his NAVI contract ended, leaving him available on the market before Vitality\u2019s August announcement.<\/p>\n
