Occasionally, players find themselves stuck with unwanted cards that slip into their decks, necessitating careful selection from available reward choices to minimize their impact. Any player who has tackled “Slay the Spire” or similar titles understands that unnecessary cards can weaken even the most powerful decks. The risk of drawing something useless at a pivotal moment can be frustrating, especially when strategy hinges on having the right cards available at the right time. Thus, making informed choices about deck composition becomes essential for success in challenging scenarios.

In terms of visuals, as I highlighted earlier, Neoverse fails to leave a lasting impression. Its design and overall quality feel reminiscent of mobile games that often prioritize quick development over polish. You’ll find low-resolution backgrounds, decent enemy designs, and intentionally provocative heroines that seem more focused on appeal than substance. The character models, both foes and protagonists, seriously lack the detail and high-quality textures that players have come to expect from modern titles. I was initially convinced that Neoverse had launched on Android and iOS, but it turns out it has never been available on those mobile platforms, which is quite surprising given its style. Nevertheless, its graphics, controls, and gameplay are undeniably tailored to a mobile experience, complete with the typical issues of low-quality visuals and mechanics that feel more like time-wasters than engaging gameplay elements. These flaws might be forgivable in niche, fast-paced action titles, where quick reflexes and excitement reign supreme, but they become particularly problematic in static card duels, where characters remain stationary and strategic thinking takes center stage. The controls also present significant challenges, as they are implemented in a disorganized manner, requiring simultaneous use of the cursor, quick-access buttons, and navigation through all the screen elements using the directional pad. This chaotic setup can quickly lead to frustration, detracting from the overall gaming experience.

Neoverse Verdict

Neoverse is an action card game that stands out for its successful visual design and generous distribution model: about a third of the content is available completely free of charge. Although the Tino Games studio did not revolutionize the genre, it demonstrated the highest level of execution and creativity, creating a flawless and thoughtful gameplay.

Even though the mobile version is not without minor rough edges, this is not a reason to refuse to install it – the game easily deserves a place on your device.
