At the ADAC SimRacing Expo 2024, project director Davide Brivio spoke about how the in-game economy will work. Gamers will be able to earn credits to purchase and upgrade their cars. For those who are not ready to make a purchase right away, car rental will be available. However, only your own cars will be able to be customized – rental cars will remain in the standard configuration. “Owning a car” in the game means “buying it,” Brivio clarified. The good news is that there will be no microtransactions. All progress is tied exclusively to the gameplay.

Another interesting point is that the range of dealers in the game will be as close to reality as possible. Each model will receive authentic configurations that correspond to real options on the market. For example, if in real life a car is offered with several types of engines and different wheel rims, then in the game you can choose between a petrol and diesel version or install 17-inch wheels with a sunroof. Such details make the game even more realistic, turning it into a real paradise for car lovers.

Driving Academy and Multiplayer in Assetto Corsa EVO

It will be powered by SimGrid as part of a partnership with Speed ​​Capital Ltd.

The good news is that it will. Developers from Kunos Digital have confirmed that Assetto Corsa EVO will receive mod support, but not immediately, but only after it leaves early access. According to Marco Massarutto in an interview with Traxion, modders will find a “powerful editor” that will certainly open up even more possibilities for them.

However, there are always nuances with mods, especially when it comes to licensing. Some enthusiasts are not above borrowing car models from other games without permission from the copyright holders, and this is already legal grayness.

Kunos, it seems, found a solution. Massarutto hinted that now modders will interact with car manufacturers and license holders at the official level. This may mean that mods will undergo some form of moderation and receive approval from the developers.

Completely open world of 1600 km²

One of the main innovations of Assetto Corsa EVO is a gigantic open-world zone. It was first mentioned in the announcement trailer, and now it has become clear that we are in for more than just a beautiful decoration, but a full-fledged gaming experience. Players will be able to freely drive on realistically recreated public roads of the Eifel region surrounding the legendary Nürburgring. Thanks to LiDAR technology, the developers were able to convey the smallest details of the terrain, which means that we are in for real car tourism in the spirit of real driving experience.

“Everything you saw in the trailer will be implemented. Players will be able to just enjoy driving on real roads,” Massarutto confirmed to Traxion. He added: “It’s going to be amazing.”

The full open-world map will appear in the summer of 2025, but in early access it will be opened in stages. Gradually, the developers will bring it to the promised scale of 1,600 km² (617 square miles). But just driving on the roads is not all. In the world of Assetto Corsa EVO, there will be live interaction with the environment. Players will be able to visit auto parts stores, upgrade their cars, rent cars, and local businesses will even be able to advertise their brands in the game.
