TerraTech

TerraTech gives you the chance to design, build and command a fleet of distinctive vehicles while engaging in epic battles against your enemies on lawless alien worlds. This adventure takes place in the distant future, where humanity has spent all of Earth’s natural resources, which will give you the impetus to go to distant planets in search of important materials to stay in the world longer. As you explore new worlds, you can collect various resources, sending them back to Earth in exchange for money or using them to craft improved parts for your growing fleet of vehicles. The rarest resources you find will unlock access to advanced equipment, improving the capabilities and performance of your vehicles. To become better, you will need territory, and you can only get it by capturing enemy bases. Unleash your creativity by crafting wild machines using modular parts! Hunt down your enemies, blast off their components, and clear the battlefield wreckage to enhance your vehicle’s power, performance, and speed. You can construct anything your imagination desires. Heavy tanks? Absolutely. Swift reconnaissance vehicles? Without a doubt. Flying bombers? Why not? The possibilities are endless! Just drag and connect new pieces to your creation, experimenting with different designs and strategies. Once you’re satisfied, head back to the battlefield and show your foes the power of your ingenuity!

On March 22, a game was released that declared itself in the best survival basis, a very unusual project Terratech. However, the game became available much earlier than its official release, and we took advantage of this to introduce you to the new product, telling you more in detail in our article.

Terratech review

In the future, humanity is actively exploring the frontiers of the Galaxy, settling them or extracting valuable resources. But it does not do this on its own, but with the help of small autonomous bots reminiscent of Mars rovers – the so-called prospectors. This sounds quite logical: sending robots that do not need oxygen, food and expensive insurance is probably cheaper than equipping full-fledged expeditions. In fact, we will play as such a prospector, on whose robotic shoulders will fall a difficult mission of survival, arranging a base and extracting resources in remote worlds.

TerraTech machines

For obvious reasons, there is no need to eat, drink or sleep here. However, this is still survival, so you still have to worry about some things. Firstly, remote worlds can hardly be called safe – our machine can easily be destroyed by some tree shooting lightning or thrown off by a springy mushroom. So you should not relax. Secondly, there are many other prospectors roaming the planet who will happily destroy you to get free parts for their mission. Yes, a robot is a wolf to a robot. And finally, thirdly, we will have to monitor such things as battery charge, on-board generator capacity and the number of rounds. In general, you should not expect an easy walk.

The main functions of the constructor and survival in Terratech

The key function of the game is construction. And we are talking not only about the platform with a workbench, generators, production workshops and other equipment, but also about the robot itself. Each bot here consists of interconnected modules – wheels, guns, cargo compartments, safety frames, generators and couplings. We have a full-fledged constructor! Something similar, by the way, has already been implemented in the domestic game Crossout. It is the quality of your vehicle that determines how smoothly your expedition to the new world will go.

From a tiny car on four wheels, you can gradually assemble anything. For example, we first expanded the wheelbase to six pieces, then increased the frame, after which, in addition to the energy gun, we placed a ballistic one on the bow, and then balanced it all with a counterweight on the stern. With such a set of spare parts, it was already possible not only to mine ore needed to produce ammunition and build new modules at the base, but also to attack enemies.

TerraTech build

Prospectors travel everywhere, and the battles themselves are quite tactical. For example, you can shoot off your opponent’s guns so that he cannot attack, you can try to saw him in half, de-energizing half, or you can simply destroy the central module. There are a lot of strategies! Then, from the received spare parts, you can mold either something powerful and effective, or … something chaotic. For example, we were unable to collect a sufficient number of identical wheels.

As you can see, Terratech is both a survival game and a constructor, which, in our opinion, is a very cool concept. Well, now you know about this unusual game. And it’s time for us to say goodbye and hope that the release version will be even more fun and diverse!
