Cyber TRAKTOR are replaced in the WePlay! Pushka League Division 2 by Team Unique after one of their players has been proven to have had illegal betting activity against his own team.
The CIS representatives were suspended from the competition on April 29 after the WePlay! Esports noticed suspicious in-game behavior from the players in the series held on April 26 against Cyber Legacy. After an internal investigation held by WePlay! and the Cyber TRAKTOR managerial team, it was found that Artur “Retsu” Kotsoyev engaged in illegal betting on intermediate results. The player received a one year ban from any WePlay! Esports tournaments (effective until May 2, 2021) and the whole team was replaced from the current season of Pushka League. However, the organization is allowed to play in the next season.
Anton “WarLocK” Tokarev: WePlay! Esports Lead Esports Manager
“We understand that Cyber TRAKTOR is in complicated circumstances with its Dota 2 roster that is still on probation. It’s not easy to commit to such decisions, but we see no other choice if we want to prevent such incidents in the future.”
Evgeny Belozertsev, Cyber TRAKTOR representative:
“Thank you for the trust and an opportunity to participate in the next season of the league. We couldn’t predict what had happened. In the future, we will be controlling our players during official matches and practice more closely.”
Team Unique is effective immediately replacing Cyber TRAKTOR in Division 2 and will start their participation in league with the same result as Cyber TRAKTOR had.
