FaZe has made the first step into VALORANT with the signing of Jason ‘JasonR’ Ruchelski and Corey ‘Corey’ Nigra. Coming from professional backgrounds in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Overwatch respectively, the two players bring in a variety of experience at the top levels of hero based and tactical shooters.

JasonR joins an ever growing list of former and current professional CS:GO players making the swap to VALORANT. Spencer ‘hiko’ Martin is leading 100 Thieves division while TSM and T1 are majority and completely made up of former CS:GO players.

The 25-year-old had previously played for teams such as Splyce and OpTic Gaming as a stand-in while Corey was a member of the Washington D.C. Justice Overwatch League team. JasonR hasn’t competed since 2017, however, whereas Corey was in the most recent season of his title.

“I’ll be FaZe’s first entry into Valorant as team captain,” JasonR said in a video marking the announcement.

In the video, JasonR also hinted at further plans from FaZe.

“As of right now, I don’t want to comment. There are some things in the works right now and that’s all I’ll really say,” he teased. “I’ll wait until they tell me that I’m allowed to talk about it.”

The plans we care about right now would be who else is joining FaZe Clan and when will the roster we completed?
