The StarLadder ImbaTv Minor is the next tournament on the Dota Pro Circuit schedule and it’s set to commence next week, on the 7th of February. The event will take place in Kiev, Ukraine and unfortunately, Royal Never Give up secured the visa for only four of their players.
In a Weibo post from this morning, the organization announced that Tue “Ah Fu” Soon Chuan’s visa “met some difficulties.” The teams are expected to arrive in Kiev at least two days prior to the event, and considering the time zone change, RNG would have certainly preferred to give their players an extra day to fix the jet-lag. According to the RNG announcement, they will seek for help and will try to apply again for Ah Fu’s visa, but they are also already looking into options for a stand-in.
RNG’s post roughly translates:
We’ve just been informed that Ah Fu’s Visa met some difficulties, but the other four players already got it. We will seek for help and apply again. Meanwhile, we will start preparing a plan B.
RNG are one of the eight teams qualified for the upcoming Minor. Earlier this season they also qualified for the DreamLeague Season 10 Minor, but finished third in the tournament. The failure there triggered a few roster changes which came with points deduction. RNG are one of the two Chinese teams qualified for the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor, the other one being Vici Gaming who very recently have also made a roster change. During the regional qualifiers for the event they benched Pan “Fade” Yi. On the second day of the qualifiers Fade was brought back, but immediately after the team qualified for the Minor, he posted on Weibo that the move upset him strong enough to make him consider taking a competitive break. Vici Gaming participated at the recently ended MDL Macau without their captain and it’s uncertain if Fade will travel with his team for the Minor. Ah Fu’s visa issue might be the perfect opportunity for him to compete under a different team banner.
