After months of rumors, Dignitas has returned to the LCS. The esports organizations parent company Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) have merged with Clutch Gaming, seeing them return to the LCS.

Dignitas broke the news via an official announcement that included words from Michael “Prindi” Prindiville. “The return of Dignitas to League of Legends is the best story in esports and the comeback narrative that we’re thrilled to tell in lockstep with our fans,” he said. “In addition to returning DIG to the biggest, most entertaining esports league in the world, this merger marks an important step in our trajectory as we build a global gaming-centric new media and entertainment company.

We want to be that brand that comes in and produces content that is engaging that brings in the old fans, brings in the new fans, that has fun. But at the same time we can always challenge. One thing I’m a little bit tired of is seeing the same people win,” Prindiville added.

Dignitas has previously held teams in both Europe and North America. They have been out of the League of Legends scene since their application was denied in 2018.

The current lineup will continue to play under the Clutch banner with a rebrand coming at the conclusion of the 2019 season.
