CIS and Europe were in full swing at ESL One Los Angeles Online and with day four of the group stages getting underway today, we would be seeing more Group B action, starting with Team Spirit and Team Unique.

Team Spirit have had a very tough season so far, after reaching the first Major in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit, they were unable to make it to the next and while they did make the WePlay! Bukovel Minor, they were unable to make a decent showing there either. But since then the team has seen two big changes with Alexey ‘nongrata’ Vasilyev and Igot ‘iLTW’ Filatov departing from the roster at the end of March 2020, paving the way for new additions to the team. Their opponents have also seen some struggles lately, having been dropped by the forZe organisation just a few weeks ago, Gentlemen were picked up by Team Unique and were now looking to show their strength.

With both teams having lost their opening series a few days ago, this would be a chance for one of them to shine – and from the beginning of game one, it was Unique who seemed to want the win more. It took only 19-minutes, with only four kills for Spirit in that time, before they called the GG and gave Unique a 1-0 lead. But Spirit would not give up that easily as Anton ‘DryachYO’ Shkredov’s Slark ripped through Unique’s poor lineup from start to finish, going 15-0 and securing a tied series with a game three on the way.

The final game of the series was extremely back and forth, with neither team wanting to give up their shot at a first victory at the event. For Unique, their teamfight was much stronger than their opponents but Spirit had a Phantom Lancer and Nature’s Prophet who were keeping them in the game – and even when things seemed completely over, the squad were able to make a massive comeback and take the series 2-1, pushing Unique into the bottom of Group B.

There are still three more series left today at ESL One Los Angeles Online with Natus Vincere and Chicken Fighters going head-to-head next, with Akbar ‘SoNNeikO’ Butaev would go up against his ex-organisation. Following this would be another massive series between Alliance and Team Liquid, before Team Secret and Ninjas in Pyjamas close out Group B for today at ESL One LA Online.
