After CR4ZY ceased all their esports operations for 2020, the Dota 2 roster stuck together and continued to compete under the catJammers tag. Unfortunately, their unsponsored venture lasted just a little over a month, as they now report full disbandment.

Captain Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling and his catJammers team participated at the recently concluded DOTA Summit 13, but only finished top eight. Two days after the tournament was over, Aui_2000 announced on Twitter that he is no longer a part of the catJammers team and that he doesn’t have any other plans for now.

However, catJammers received a direct invite to the Valve supported tournament for North and South American teams, Realms Collide: The Burning Darkness, which is set to begin today, November 12.

Yesterday, Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann, who was the only European member of catJammers, has also announced his decision to take a step back, as he feels “drained” after competing in the US time zone.

Finally, David “MoonMeander” Tan announced last night the full disbandment of catJammers, leaving one spot open at Realms Collide: The Burning Darkness. Given the situation, the second placed team in the tournament qualifiers took their place.

catJammers disbanded line-up:

  • William “hFn” Medeiros
  • Jonathan “Bryle” Santos De Guia
  • Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann
  • Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling
  • David “MoonMeander” Tan

Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao stack, 4FUN, who last week claimed the Dota Summit 13 title, but placed second in the Realms Collide qualifiers, will now join the fray.

Realms Collide: The Burning Darkness is set to begin later today with a total of 12 teams in a single round-robin group stage format. At the end of the group play, the top four teams will advance to the playoff upper bracket, the teams placed fifth to eight will be seeded in the lower bracket, while the bottom four teams will be eliminated. Realms Collide will unfold November 12 – December 6 with a total prize pool of $75,000 courtesy of Valve’s support.
