Now that the group stages of The International 2019 have come to an end, we are almost ready to enter the Main Event – but first we have to find out how the bracket shapes up.
Announced just a short time ago, we have the teams which will be fighting to stay alive in the initial lower bracket best-of-one as well as those battling through the upper bracket when the Main Event of TI9 kicks off on Tuesday, August 20th. The lower bracket will begin with an amalgamation of best-of-one elimination matches from which the losing squad will find themselves departing TI9 on the opening day of the main event.
Each and every lower bracket opening game is going to be intense as the teams fight to reach the best-of-threes. Will Alliance be able to knock out the first Chinese team or will Royal Never Give Up send another European squad packing? Can Infamous continue forward as the sole South American team or will Keen Gaming stop them in their tracks? We’re under two days from finding out just what happens when The International 2019’s main event gets underway.
While the upper bracket is a bit safer, with best-of-three series right off the bat, no series will be taken lightly. With last year’s winners, OG and the runners up, PSG.LGD both dominating their respective groups, this is set to be an explosive upper bracket even if they don’t meet each other on the battlefield. Can the champions of Southeast Asia continue their brilliant form and can Newbee cause some major upsets?
After that absolutely breathtaking, and possibly one of the all-time best group stages in the history of TI, we’re extremely hyped to get the main event started. And with so much in store for us over the next few days, you can understand why.
