The Los Angeles Valiant have announced the departure of head coach Byung-chul “Moon” Moon. Assistant coach Mike “Packing10” Szklanny will act as interim-head coach until a replacement can be found. Warsi “Stoop” Waris’ and Dongsu Shin’s position as assistant coaches remains unchanged.

With this, the Valiant react to a winless start into the second season of the Overwatch League. Currently in last place with a score of 0-7, the team had disappointed expectations stemming from their strong second-place finish during the regular season last year.

Furthermore, acting assistant manager and translator Andrew “Korean Mulan” Kim has also parted ways with the Valiant.

It is so far unknown if Moon will be picked up by a different Overwatch League franchise and who his replacement for the Valiant will be.

Just yesterday, Moon had tweeted about issues arising from his statements about Valiant main support Scott “Custa” Kennedy’s benching. In a video, he had argued that Kennedy’s playstyle “was something that better suited a team that had an overall higher understanding of the meta”. The comment had garnered a lot of attention on social media. Moon commented that it had been taken out of context during the video editing process.
