On Monday, the Philadelphia Fusion announced their Contenders roster via a YouTube video.

Philadelphia Fusion University Roster:

  • Haydin “ZerG” Gordon – Age: 14/Country: USA
  • Elijah “Elk” Gallagher – Age: 18/Country: USA
  • Adam “Beasthalo” Denton – Age: 17/Country: USA
  • Zachary “ZachaREEE” Lombardo – Age: 17/Country: USA
  • Hasan “crakinlakin” Alfardi – Age: 18/Country: USA
  • Kim “Alarm” Kyeong – Age: 17/Country: South Korea
  • Seung “WhoRU” Jun-lee – Age: 17/Country: South Korea

Coach: Aaron Atkins (Former FNRGFE)

The team will play in Blizzard’s developmental league alongside eight other organizations in mostly the same way the NBA runs their G League where talent is refined and prepped for professional play. The University team will play Contenders teams affiliated and not affiliated with Overwatch League teams in the upcoming season.

WhoRU is an exceptional get for this team as he was one of the best DPS players in the world when he played for Lunatic-Hai. There was a little bit of controversy that WhoRU didn’t get picked up by any of the initial Overwatch League teams as some believed that the minimum age for participation should be lower. However, the young star will again have a chance to play until he reaches the age of 18, which is the minimum age required in order to play in the league. This is the same with ZerG, who at age 14 is the youngest on this Contenders squad.
