The Overwatch World Cup playoffs have gained it’s first two participants. Eight teams made their way to Incheon in an attempt to earn their spot at this year’s World Cup and only two could make it. There will be a total of four group stages in four different countries and of the 32 World Cup teams only eight will move into the playoffs. The World Cup will take place on November 2-3 at BlizzCon.

The two-time reigning World Cup champions South Korea made it through the qualifier as expected and were joined by Finland. South Korea, featuring mostly members of New York Excelsior of the Overwatch League would go undefeated through the weekend. Finland did not go down without a fight against the world powerhouse and took the series the full distance with a fifth map.
