In early February of 2020, Natus Vincere would have to replace their captain, Bakyt ‘Zayac’ Emilzhanov, but now the team are complete again after their trial stand-in was added to the main roster.
Back in February, Na’Vi were involved in a bit of CIS player-poaching drama in which Zayac would depart from the squad to join Virtus.pro and leave them without a position four and captain. Since then the team have replaced Zayac with Semion ‘CemaTheSlayer’ Krivulya – who joined on a trial basis until they were ready to make it official. Confirmed via the Na’Vi Twitter account yesterday, the player is now officially a part of the CIS squad’s roster as he has completed his trial period. Igor ‘caff’ Sidorenko, Manager of Na’Vi, had the following to say about Cema’s addition to the team,
We are glad to welcome Semion. Despite the difficulties which we experienced after Leipzig, he quickly joined the team and turned out to be the teammate that was needed. I am sure that with him we will be able to progress further and achieve our goal this season.”source: Navi.gg
While Cema has not been confirmed as the team’s new captain as yet, it is likely that he will acquire this role in time – as he was previously the captain of Vega Squadron for nearly four years. Na’Vi, with their full confirmed roster, will be playing later today in the WeSave! Charity Play event and their first series is against none other than b8, the latest team of Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin.
While Na’Vi have already proven themselves at qualifiers with this roster, taking the top spot for ESL One Los Angeles CIS qualifiers, they have not been seen playing anything else. With that Major and the next currently cancelled, it will be interesting to see what they can do now that they have had some time to prepare and moving forward.
