UPDATE 17:00 CET:
MonteCristo confirmed on Twitter, that he and Duncan “Thorin” Shields will fully bring back the League of Legends talk show Summoning Insight for the entire 2020.
Following his departure from the Overwatch League, caster Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles announced a new project Monday. MonteCristo will be partnering with Cloud9 not just to create content, but also to design “competitive products that will be announced shortly.”
MonteCristo and Cloud9 have already worked together to create esports content. During the Worlds 2019 campaign, he once again partnered with Duncan “Thorin” Shields to revive Summoning Insight — the popular League of Legends talk show, which the hosts put on hold once MonteCristo joined OWL.
MonteCristo was the first high-profile name to quit the OWL full-time and was followed by several other names in an exodus wave. This month alone, all of hosts Chris Puckett and Malik Forte, caster Auguste “Semmler” Massonna, and MonteCristo’s long-time desk partner Erik “DoA” Lonnquist confirmed they will not be returning for OWL Season 3. In his farewell statement, Mykles cited “irreconcilable creative and philosophical differences” between him and upper management, following the departure of commissioner Nate Nanzer.
