Looks like some expanded tournament features are coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. According to leaks found and published by VGSources, in-game files suggest built-in tournaments will be playable in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 format.

Before we get into it, “it’s important to notes that some of these could have been included within the in-game files on PC for merely testing purposes,” VGSources says.

This expands on the built-in tournament system for Gunfight that was previously confirmed by Infinity Ward. When the news broke back in July, Gunfight would form its own single elimination bracket once enough players or teams join the lobby. Whether or not the tournaments will be able to be customized for more than single elimination is yet to be known.

Being able to customize the tournaments would add a pretty neat scenario that would hold similar to the likes of Fortnite’s playground mode but with a tournament bracket being built-in.

Now it seems it won’t just be your standard 2v2 and instead will allow solos as well as more players to team up to compete. It was also rumored that rewards could be a part of the game modes tournaments although it has not yet been confirmed.

It is important to note that nothing is official or guaranteed until released or confirmed by Infinity Ward.
