Burmese Ghouls now wait in the grand final of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M2 World Championship after a successful day five which saw them defeat RRQ Hoshi 3-2. BREN and RRQ still remain while Omega and Alter Ego have been eliminated.
Burmese Ghouls 3-2 RRQ Hoshi:
The biggest match of the day was the upper-bracket finals match between RRQ and Burmese Ghouls which went the distance of all five maps. The Myanmar side went up 2-0 in the series before RRQ hunkered down for a comeback, tying things up 2-2 after two strong performances to force a game 5. A 14 minute match was all it took to send the Indonesian champions to the lower bracket finals.
Alter Ego 2:0 Omega Esports:
Alter Ego continued their run of success by taking down the MPL-PH runner-ups Omega. The games ended in 14 and 13 minutes respectively as Alter Ego overpowered Omega and eliminated the Filipino team from the event.
BREN 2-1 Todak:
BREN had a big day, taking down the MPL-MY/SG champions Todak in a three game series. Despite their victory, it was Todak who struck first, taking game one after 17 minutes.
The last remaining team from the Philippines wasn’t ready to go home, however, dominating game two 18-5 and tying things up in 12 minutes. The final map would follow similar fashion with the wind in the sails of BREN, helping them cruise to a 25-6 kill lead and another 12 minute victory.
BREN 2-1 Alter Ego:
In a rematch of the group stage, BREN met Alter Ego to decide who would make it into the top 3. It looked like Alter Ego had done their homework as they soared off to an early 10-3 lead before closing things out around the 14 minute mark.
Once again Alter Ego took the lead early, but this time BREN found their footing in time to fight back. The MPL-PH champions took teamfight after teamfight, giving them an advantage that would guide them to a 16 minute game two win.
The aggression continued into the final game with BREN storming off to a 5-0 kill lead within 4 minutes. Alter Ego bounced back with four of their own, but it was all BREN from there, winning 13 more fights to take a dominating 18-4 kill lead in 12 minutes. It would take 6 more minutes before BREN could close it out as Alter Ego put up a stalwart defense but eventually got battered to the point of no return.
Tomorrow will see RRQ take on BREN to decide who will face Burmese Ghouls in the grand finals for a shot at the M2 World Championship title.
