In what is the best series of the StarLadder Major thus far, Liquid have come out on top of mousesports in a nail biter. In a match that deliver on every front of the game, two teams were pushing each other to the absolute limit. Only one could earn a spot on the stage at the Mercedez-Benz arena and that team is Liquid.
Both maps stressed out fans of both organizations as it was a battle of back-and-forth rounds as each team fought to maintain their lead.
Going into overtime on both maps, it was Liquid who would be able to grind through the struggles and push themselves over the finish line. It was another strong showing from Keith “NAF” Markovic who led his team with a +15 kill-to-death ratio. You can’t mark out the impact of Jake “stewie2k” Yip, Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken either as they all had monumental plays to keep their team in the game and push the maps into winnable positions.
Liquid will join Astralis, Renegades, ENCE, AVANGAR, Vitality, and NRG. Natus Vincere are set to take on CR4ZY to decide who else will be making a playoff appearance.
The North Americans of Liquid will be taking on Astralis in the quarterfinals.
