Two weeks have passed since the last version of Legends of Runeterra arrived at our servers, which means that it is time to introduce the new pack of updates that Riot Games has prepared for us: Patch 1.14.
With this new Patch, Riot sets everything for the upcoming Seasonal Tournaments, that is why apart from the changes, the new version notes come alongside a list of the best decks at the moment, a meta snapshot that they want to provide us more often from now together with gameplay updates.
As always, Patch 1.14 will bring some balance changes for champions and card updates, but this time we will have some new stuff: a New Lab: Hexperimentation 101, an update for the Gauntlet, and the addition of a spectate mode that will allow us to watch our friend’s games!

- No Followers – If your deck contains no followers (it can contain Champions), you gain: When you cast your second spell each round, create a follower in hand that costs less than or equal to your max mana.

Gauntlet Update: Standard Best of Three
As mentioned before, Riot Games is preparing for the first Seasonal Tournament coming in December, so for the next two weeks, we will have the Gauntlet as ‘Standard Best of Three’, so players can get us to the new game flow before the tournament begins.
Due to this format change, some rules have changed:
- Required wins reduced to four and XP rewards adjust appropriately.
- Winning decks can’t be played again during the same match.
Riot introduces the spectate mode in Legends of Runeterra, with which we will be able to watch our friend’s games with all the usual in-game functionality (and petting their Guardian).
