With the completion of the Worlds 2019 Play-In group stage last night, the eight teams that qualified for the next stage know their opponents in the Knockout phase.

While there are several match-ups that could go either way, others should be a no-contest. DAMWON Gaming are playing Lowkey Esports, the latter coming second in one of the lowest-skill groups in the Play-Ins. DAMWON are the only team that hasn’t dropped a game so far in the tournament and a 3-0 against Lowkey is the expected result.

The LEC and LCS third seeds in Clutch Gaming and Splyce, however, have more interesting games ahead of them. Clutch had a rocky group stage, losing twice to Unicorns of Love, but picked up speed just in time for the group’s tiebreakers. Clutch now face Royal Youth who survived in DAMWON’s group by the skin of their teeth, but who also showed some stellar gameplay against both the Koreans and Flamengo eSports. While the series should still be in Clutch’s favor, it might not be the clean 3-0 expected for DAMWON.

The same goes for Splyce, who are playing Unicorns of Love next. Splyce had one of the cleaner group stage runs and had it not been for the odd loss to DetonatioN FocusMe, they would’ve cleared a 4-0 as well. That said, just like Royal Youth, the CIS Unicorns have proven they can upset better teams, beating Clutch Gaming twice, and should be capable of at least taking a few games from Splyce.

The Play-In Knockout stage starts Oct. 7-8.
