Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski and Luka “Perkz” Perković both completed a personal hallmark by passing the 1,000 LEC kills mark in the second game of the LEC grand final against Fnatic. Jankos was the faster player to the four-digits but Perkz caught up to him soon thereafter, with G2 steamrolling Fnatic to tie the series at 1-1.

Jankos and Perkz were 11 and 13 kills away from the 1,000 heading into the LEC Grand Final so the notion was that G2 would need to play a full five-game series against Fnatic so that both players can hit the mark. But after a bloody game 1 what saw Fnatic take the lead, the G2 duo needed only a handful more kills and the dominant performance by the “samurai” helped achieve that.

The series itself is heating up and there no clear winner after two games in the books. G2 look somewhat stronger, standing on more or less equal footing in game 1 and in full control of game 2, but Fnatic are still the team that took the reigning champions to five games in the semifinals last week, and one of the few in Europe that are on par with G2 talent-wise.

As Jankos and Perkz keep racking up kills, the next target to beat is the 1500th kill — an achievement Fnatic’s own Martin “Rekkles” Larsson accomplished in July.
