Heading into the 2018 EU LCS Summer Split, Misfits have decided to add to their roster. They announced on their website on Monday that they have promoted two players to their main League of Legends roster. They’ll be adding Patrick “Obsess” Engelmann and mid laner Joran “Special” Scheffer. Both players previously played for Misfits Academy.

Misfits previously made it to the 2017 World Championships. Initially going 4-3 in the group stage, they would end up taking SK telecom T1 to a thrilling five game set during the knockout stage. SKT would eventually advance to the finals, being swept by Samsung Galaxy.

The start of the Summer Split is only a couple of weeks away! We are super excited to get underway but not without announcing our latest League Of Legends roster additions.

We are thrilled to be welcoming Jungler Patrick ‘Obsess’ Engelmann to The Herd and Mid laner Joran ‘Special’ Scheffer, coming fresh out of the Misfits Academy!

Both will serve as in-house substitutes for the LCS roster who we are looking to support as much as possible in our bid for a second successive year competing at Worlds.

With this in mind, the vacated Academy midlane slot will be taken on by Serkan ‘xKenzuke’ Atilgan.

We are going in this Summer galvanised. Last split was not what anyone at Misfits hoped for, but having had time to refresh and add to our structure, we are more than confident that we will perform to the level our fans expect of us.

See you on the Rift

Obsess also tweeted and spoke about his motivation for the upcoming split.
