Jungler Nubar “Maxlore” Sarafian will not only stay with Misfits, but has extended his contract for three more years. The organization announced Thursday that they’ll be working together with the Brit until 2021.
“After many years of fighting to have him in my teams, finally being able to work with [Maxlore] was a blessing and I am further blessed to work with him for years to come,” said Misfits Chief Gaming Officer Joe El Ouassi. “Nubar is someone with unique leadership characteristics and has an unrivaled work ethic, qualities that any team fighting for a championship need.”
Maxlore joined Misfits for the 2017 Summer Split and was instrumental to the team’s competitive peaks. He helped the “rabbits” to a second place finish in the Summer Split and then to a historical quarterfinal finish at Worlds 2017. Then the champions of the crowd, Misfits came close to upsetting reigning champions SK Telecom T1, before ultimately losing in game five.
The organization also confirmed that alongside Maxlore, AD carry Steven “Hans Sama” Liv will also be staying. More updates are “soon to come”, Misfits said, as Europe’s offseason is now in full force. Earlier reports have already hinted towards new additions to the team. According to ESPN, former Fnatic top laner Paul “sOAZ” Boyer and Clutch Gaming mid Fabian “Febiven” Diepstraten are being eyeballed by the organization.
Misfits will be one of the 10 organizations to take part in the debut LEC franchising season.
