On a recent stream, Invictus Gaming support Su “Southwind” Zhi-Lin leaked the groups for the upcoming Mid-Season Cup between the LPL and the LCK.

The tournament, which is like a mini-MSI for the Asian region, comes May 28, and features four LCK and four LPL teams. From the LCK side, those are T1, Gen.G, DragonX, and DAMWON Gaming. From the LPL side, those are JD Gaming, Top Esports, FunPlus Phoenix, and Invictus Gaming.

While nothing’s confirmed from Riot’s side, according to Southwind, the groups will be drawn as follows:

Group A:

  • JD Gaming
  • Invictus Gaming
  • Gen.G
  • DragonX

Group B:

  • T1
  • Damwon Gaming
  • Top Esports
  • FunPlus Phoenix

Group B stands out as particularly exciting, as it pairs LCK champions T1 against LPL Spring 2020 runner-ups Top Esports and reigning world champions FPX. In Group A, Spring 2020 champions JD Gaming go against LCK regular season winners Gen.G, in what should be the most hyped match of that group.

According to Southwind, the format will be a best-of-1 round robin with four teams advancing to the playoffs. The entire tournament will be played online, as travel is still locked due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
