G2 Esports AD carry Luka “Perkz” Perkovic and top laner Martin “Wunder” Hansen have signed new 3-year contracts with the ‘samurai’, the organization announced Thursday. Jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski is also committed long-term to G2 and has signed a 2-year contract.
Perkz is the longest standing member on the current G2 Esports roster. The Croatian joined in 2015 to take the mid lane and was instrumental to the org’s four-in-a-row EU LCS championships. With the acquisition of ex-Fnatic star Rasmus “Caps” Winther, Perkz moved to the bot lane but he’s determined to stay committed to the team.
Wunder’s 3-year deal comes in the wake of a wonderful performance by the Dane at Worlds 2018. G2’s top laner finished on the top of his role in terms of average CS per game and CS per minute, as well as second in Gold Per Minute behind iG’s Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok. His split pushing perseverance on champions like Aatrox, Urgot and Camille was a large contributing factor to G2’s top 4 finish in Korea.
Jankos’ contract extension, albeit a year shorter, will further help G2 establish a new legacy in the franchised LEC.
“One of our main goals going into the new season and the revamped European league, was to further strengthen our relationship with our existing lineup and continue our legacy of competitive success,” said G2 Easports head of gaming development Jamie Bach.
G2’s opening LEC match will be against Origen on Jan. 19.
