Legendary South Korean top laner Lee “Flame” Ho-jong will return home after spending more than two years playing in the west. The former Immortals and FlyQuest player will join the ranks of DAMWON Gaming, to split the position with rookie Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon.
Flame parted ways with FlyQuest in November 2018, but stayed a free agent, unsigned by anyone during the off-season. FQ filled his spot with rookie Omran “Viper” Shoura and are currently third in the NA LCS standings.
According to DAMWON’s Twitter, Flame will debut with the team after the start of LCK’s second round robin. DAMWON’s last game from the first round is against HLE this Friday.
2019 LCK Spring 2라운드부터 Flame 이호종 선수가 새롭게 합류하게 되었습니다. 이호종 선수가 잘 적응하여 좋은 경기를 보여줄 수 있도록 많은 응원 부탁드립니다!

Flame is expected to be the veteran anchor that steers DAMWON to high finishes in the LCK. This is the franchise’s first season in the league, after winning the Promotion tournament in September, and most of its roster is composed of absolute rookies. Flame, on the other hand, is no stranger to big-pressure stages. He is an LPL champion with LGD and NA LCS finalist with Immortals and has been competing since 2012, breaking out on the scene with Azubu Blaze.
Currently, DAMWON are #5 in the LCK standings. Although not exactly an outstanding placement, it’s still a noteworthy one for such young team, especially seeing how DAMWON are already ahead of Kingzone DragonX, KT Rolster and Afreeca Freecs. The rookies are set to play Hanwha Life Esports on Friday, Feb. 22, followed by a what’s likely to be a rough series against the dynasty of SK Telecom on Sunday, Feb. 24.
