T1 are now the hottest streaking team in the LCK. The squad behind GOAT Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok recorded its fifth straight win, demolishing Griffin on Wednesday 2-0.
Game 1 was what could be described as a solo queue game. T1 played a perfect kill game and downed Griffin’s nexus in 27 minutes. Scoring eight of the 11 total kills, bot laner Park “Teddy” Jin-seong also became the 10th player in the LCK to reach 1000 kills.
Together with Teddy, Faker was also in prime form on his signature LeBlanc, securing two of the four kills in the first (and only) real teamfight of the game.
Game 2 was a bit more contested and Griffin actually had the gold lead in the first 20 minutes. Great map control by Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong’s Olaf secured the first three Dragons for Griffin and put them on a gentle 2k gold lead, but once again the teamfight was their undoing. Pitch perfect play by Kim “Canna” Chang-dong’s Gangplank aced Griffin in front of the Dragon pit, which opened up the map for T1. T1 kept finding kills and objectives all over the map and avoided a potential 5v5 comeback by Griffin, only pushing into the base by the 33rd minute.
Canna deservedly took the MVP award for game 2, finishing 6/0/11 as Gangplank and making for a perfect 6/0/19 KDA, counting his flawless top lane Soraka in game 1. He now leads the LCK as the top laner with the best KDA (9.3), almost doubling that of Gen.G’s Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee (2nd place with 4.8).
T1 are now tied with Gen.G for first place at 6-1, and it is likely that the tie transfers into week 5, too. T1 plays 8th place SANDBOX Gaming (2-5) next, while Gen.G faces last place APX Prince (1-5).
