Former Schalke 04 manager Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider will return to active playing after one split off the Rift. LCS franchise 100 Thieves announced Tuesday that they’ve signed the German player to their starting roster ahead of the upcoming Summer Split.
Amazing joins 100T in a difficult time for the team. After a respectable top 4 finish in 2018 Summer, the team flopped in the 2019 Spring Split. 100T finished last in the regular season with a 4-14 record, despite fielding proven Korean imports like ex-KT Rolster top laner Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho and two times world champion Bae “Bang” Jun-sik, formerly of SK Telecom T1.
The acquisition of Amazing aims to bring a bit more experience to the jungle, experience which Andy “AnDa” Hoang and Kristopher “Fragas” Myhal both lack. Amazing’s track record includes three EU LCS finals with two different teams, an LCS championship with TSM in 2014, and Worlds top 4 finish with Origen in 2015.
Really excited to be back in NA and even more excited to be with 100 Thieves,” Amazing said. “Last time I played in NA I got my first and only championship, so I’ll try to repeat history and make it 2 for 2.”
