Today, Afreeca Freecs announced the acquisition of former ROX Tigers and EDward Gaming coach, Jeong “NoFe” No-chul. With Afreeca maintaining their entire 2017 coaching staff, they now have four coaches: Choi “iloveoov” Yeon-sung, Chae “viNylCat” Woo-cheol, Yang “Yeon” Gwang-pyo, and NoFe. NoFe joins as a well known strategically focused coach, who often developed picks and bans for both the Tigers and EDward Gaming.
감사합니다. pic.twitter.com/DblvEIATT1

As a coach, NoFe has one domestic title under his belt with the ROX Tigers and four World Championship appearances, two with ROX Tigers and two with EDward Gaming. NoFe struggled to find good results with EDward Gaming, but ROX placed 2nd and 3rd/4th in their Worlds appearances under his tutelage. EDward Gaming failed to make it out of groups at Worlds in 2017 and placed 5th-8th at this year’s World Championship.
Following a significant makeover from the Afreeca Freecs, NoFe makes his return to LoL Champions Korea for the first time since 2016. Often credited for being a strong cerebral coach, he will complement the regimental based iloveoov along with viNylCat and Yeon. The Afreeca Freecs have never taken an LCK title, but did appear in the 2018 Spring Finals against Kingzone Dragon-X. Notably, the Afreeca Freecs also became the first LCK team to lose a Best of Five against a North American team in Cloud9, falling out of the quarterfinals at the 2018 world championship.
