Golden Guardians announced the acquisition of Team SoloMid top laner Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell. Hauntzer has spent the last three season with TSM, putting up MVP caliber performances and becoming known as one of North America’s best top laners. Hauntzer has attended two world championships and won three LoL Championship Series titles. He fell just short of an MVP title in 2017 Spring to Phoenix1’s Noh “Arrow” Dong-hyeon.

Golden Guardian’s acquisition of Hauntzer adds more experience to a young team that struggled in the NA LCS last year. Currently, top laner Samson “Lourlo” Jackson remains on the team. It is likely that the top laners will split time on Golden Guardians in 2019. Golden Guardians finished in 10th place in both Spring and Summer this year, prompting the need for additional talent.
In addition to today’s announcement, there have been rumors that mid laner Henrik “Froggen” Hansen will round out Golden Guardian’s 2019 lineup. The mid laner last played competitively for Echo Fox in 2017.
