Contrasting yesterday’s news, Wang “Baolan” Liu-yi has chosen to re-sign with Invictus Gaming for three years. Invictus Gaming announced the re-signing on Weibo today, clarifying that owner Wang Sicong and iG worked hard to re-sign the World Championship winning support player. Apparently this is the second time that Baolan has pulled this stunt, doing the same at the end of last year. Thankfully for iG, this means that their starting lineup will most likely remain intact for the following season.

Assuming that iG maintains the same roster, Invictus Gaming will be the third team to maintain a roster in its entirety for the following year. The last team to make this decision was Gen.G Esports, who failed to make it out of the world championship group stage this year. Still, it was Gen.G’s third straight Worlds appearance. Taipei Assassins was the other team to do so in 2012, but failed to win their region, much less win Worlds.
