In a gaming market that seemed to skyrocket with the introduction or rather reinvention of battle royale games, the trend seems far from over.
With PUBG, Fortnite, and Call of Duty’s Blackout taking the world by storm over the last several years, it seems a new contender has entered the arena.
The story was made public by Jeremy Hambly who serves as host of the gaming channel “TheQuartering” on YouTube. The popular gaming channel broke the news that a Titanfall battle royale was on its way, and soon. Produced by EA and developed by Respawn Entertainment, the game titled “Apex Legends” will be free-to-play and live from micro-transactions. Micro-transactions have been the lifeblood of Epic’s Fortnite, allowing it to the spotlight in the gaming world in a short period of time.
Prominent member of the esports space Rod “Slasher” Breslau spoke with someone who was able to play the beta and shared their thoughts with Twitter.
One top BR streamer/player provided their thoughts
"The game definitely has A LOT of potential. I don't think it'll get old fast either. Was sad to leave when the time was up and I can't really say that about any new games in this game drought. I'm excited to see where it goes."

A teaser of sorts is expected today, February 2 while the game is reported to be announced officially on Monday, February 4. How long will those interested have to wait? They won’t. The game is set to release the day of the announcement so schedule your plans accordingly.
The game will feature teams of three battling in a map of 60 players for a total of 20 teams. Gameplay was related to that of a mix between Call of Duty’s Blackout and Rainbow 6 Siege. Blackout has met high acclaim as a battle royale since it’s release while Siege has made a name for itself in the esports space for the last year.
We know the gaming community will be anxious to try the new game and can’t wait to meet you all on the servers!
