Legendary boxer Mike Tyson has jumped into esports. According to a report from ESPN, the former world heavyweight champion has revealed an investment into Fade 2 Karma.
The esports organization is mostly known for Hearthstone will be putting together a new facility in El Segundo, California thanks to this investment. El Segunda is not unfamiliar territory as it currently serves as the headquarters of the marijuana company Tyson Ranch which is owned by Tyson.
According to the report, the structure will be known as “The Ranch House.” It will feature rooms for live streaming, tournament stage, and more including a rooftop party deck.
Founded by Tim “Theude” Bergmann in July 2015, the German Hearthstone and Magic: The Gathering player has since created an organization that includes players from across the globe.
Tyson was seen playing Heartstone alongside some of Fade 2 Karma’s members in a stream on May 22. During the stream the retired boxer shared some thoughts on this new world. “It was pretty awesome. I had the opportunity to really engage with some millennials, which I never really actually do. We played Hearthstone. I really sucked real bad. You have to start somewhere. I played games before, so I’m going to start over and see what happens from here,” he said.
Tyson’s time as a professional boxer saw him land 44 knock outs against his opponents and earn a place as one of the best boxers of all time. Now he’ll try to bring that same level of achievement to Fade 2 Karma as they look to grow the brand and become a staple in the industry.
