In what can only be considered a win for the broadcast platform and the streamers, Twitch has secured popular streamers DrLupo, TimTheTatman, and Lirik to multiyear deals.

With YouTube and Mixer making big plays in recent months, it was the Amazon-owned companies turn to strike back and they did it big. As three of the most popular broadcasters in the world, Twitch has made sure to hold on to the cream of the crop and also show a united front from the streamers.

Making the pre-advertised announcement across the streams of each signed broadcaster simultaneously, Twitch’s big move shows they’re here to keep their throne and the streamers you love are happy to bleed purple.

The streaming world was thrown for a loop when Tyler “Ninja” Blevins made the swap to Mixer as the biggest celebrity in gaming. At the time many were wondering what the future might hold for streamers, but when Michael “shroud” Grzesiek followed suit just months later and Jack “CouRageJD” Dunlop moved to YouTube, it seemed Twitch was heavily on the backfoot.

According to Rod “Slasher” Breslau, the deals handled by Loaded are valued “in the millions of dollar per year.”

Many were expecting the likes of DrLupo and TimTheTatman to be next on the list, but it seems Twitch knew it was time to make a stand. The era of legitimate, multiyear, and rewarding contracts for content creators is upon us.
