Both Chicken Fighters and Vikin.gg had an amazing morning in ESL One Los Angeles Online, causing big upsets to knockout their opponents – but now they would have to fight each other to stay in the event.

Earlier today we saw Vikin.gg cause a huge upset in ESL One Los Angeles Online, knocking out the tournament favourites, Team Secret, in a magnificent display of talent. For Chicken Fighters, their fight was with Team Spirit, who they managed to take down too and with that, the first and second place teams from Group B – leaving both group’s fourth place finishers to fight in what would be an epic matchup to determine who would face OG in the lower bracket finals tomorrow.

After their destruction of Secret, Vikin.gg were quite clearly on a high as they went into the series. It took the team only 23-minutes to obliterate the Chicken Fighters squad, taking the lead early on and not once letting up until their opponent threw in the towel. But then came game two in which things turned around completely as Fighters dominated Vikin.gg in even less time in an amazing 13-1 victory to take us to a decisive game three.

It was unfortunate that one of these teams would have to be eliminated from the tournament considering their upsets today and entire run so far. The final game actually reached the half hour mark and while Fighters did their best to get farm onto Ondřej ‘Supream’ Štarha’s Alchemist, Vikin.gg never allowed them to do so. Vikin.gg, with another brilliant performance, would move on to the lower bracket finals where OG await them.

Tomorrow we will see the final day of ESL One Los Angeles Online with the lower bracket final followed by the grand final of the CIS/European region – with Virtus.pro hoping to go completely unbeaten and take a huge step in returning to some solid form.
