Fnatic have had a fairly up-and-down Dota 2 Pro Circuit season this far, after securing qualification into The Kuala Lumpur Major they fell to a 7th/7th place finish. But the team are still one of the best in their region and in Dota 2 and they made sure they would feature at the next major. A few days ago, the squad showed their skill as they ripped through everyone in their path and claimed the top seed for the SEA region at the upcoming Chongqing Major. With that secured, it was no question that they deserved a direct invite to ESL One Katowice 2019.
Fnatic join paiN Gaming, OG, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team Secret to be the first 5 teams to receive a direct invite to the event. A total of 8 teams will receive a direct invite, while another 4 will come through regional qualifiers which have yet to take place. ESL One Katowice 2019 will take place at the Spodek Arena in Poland, running from February 19th to 24th, with the final 3 days being played in front of the massive live audience. The tournament features a $300,000 prize pool and while it may not be on the DPC, it is sure to be just as hyped as any other event.
Ticketing and other usual information for the event can be found on the ESL One website here.
