After Alliance were eliminated from Beyond Epic: Europe & CIS, there was still another team whose tournament lives would end today as Virtus.pro and OG would be fighting to close out the day.

Neither OG nor VP had the best of group stage runs at Beyond Epic, with VP losing three series – yet still managing to make it through and OG losing to the likes of Vikin.gg too. Both teams were still trying to find their footing in the plethora of online events and surviving the lower bracket would go a long way in helping either squad gain some confidence.

In the first two games of the series we saw either one or the other team control everything from start to finish, with a massive 22-1-15 Queen of Pain from Vladimir ‘No[o]ne’ Minenko ripping through OG in game one. This was before OG stomped through game two, dropping only 13 times in the 25-minute game which tied the series and took the two juggernaut squads to a decisive third game.

As expected, both teams threw everything that they had at one another in game three, with the net worth lead swinging back-and-forth constantly, as both OG and VP took great fights. However, while OG seemed to be in the driver’s seat as the half hour mark passed, VP found the opening to make a huge comeback and with that, OG had absolutely no way left to fight back.

With that, OG will be eliminated from Beyond Epic: EU & CIS, unable to match their performance from the recent BLAST Bounty Hunt. For Virtus.pro, they move forward in the lower bracket where they will face either FlyToMoon or Team Nigma in their next series. For today, Beyond Epic has come to an end but there will be more action tomorrow as the upper bracket will see Team Secret fighting Team Liquid and the aforementioned series between Nigma and FTM too.
