Ever since Snapfire and Void Spirit were releaved at TI9, the entire Dota 2 community has been waiting for the release of The Outlanders Update, which is the Fall 2019 Dota 2 update that will bring in patch 7.23 and with it, the two new heroes. There has been lot of speculation on when the patch would be released, but now we finally have an answer from Valve. A frustrated community member (that describes most of the community) put up a post on Reddit requesting Valve to communicate the date of release of the new patch. It caught the eye of a Valve employee who replied to the thread!https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
The exact reply of the Valve employee was this:
Our plan is similar to the previous years, where it is soon after the first Major is concluded. We tend avoid broadcasting dates explicitly though because things can shift around and we wouldn’t want the expectation to be a specific day if a little bit more time was needed.
This was to be expected, considering the fact that last year’s big update after TI8 was also released after the first Major of the 2018-2019 DPC season. But because it was mentioned as a ‘fall’ update, there were hopes that it would be released a bit earlier. Paul ‘Redeye’ Chaloner joked that the fall update would be coming in winter.
Fall update, coming Winter 2019. https://t.co/Snogz1nB6h— Redeye (@PaulChaloner) October 30, 2019
Redeye isn’t completely wrong here, the update is closer to winter than it is to fall. Either ways, now that we know when to expect the patch (somewhere between 26th November and 31st November), we can just sit back, relax and enjoy the first set of DPC Minor and Major, the last tournaments that will be played on the 7.22 patch.
