Another day at Beyond Epic: EU & CIS has come to an end, with another upset occurring earlier in the day as three more series were played.

Ninjas in Pyjamas had already seen an up and down rollercoaster experience in their first two series, winning one and losing the other, today saw them suffer another defeat – this time at the hands of FlyToMoon. When last the two teams met, in Group B at ESL One Birmingham 2020 Online EU & CIS, FTM who managed to the CIS squad that managed to take the victory in a full three-game series. However, today they only needed two games to pummel NiP, with a little over an hour on the battlefield.

Although they posted an impressive win, this is only FTM’s first series at Beyond Epic, as they will return to play Alliance on Friday.

Nigma were hoping to gain some ground after being dismantled by OG yesterday as they faced up against Team Unique in what they hoped would be an easy victory. Unfortunately for Unique, that was exactly the case as their opponents rolled over them in two quick and easy games, bolstering their hopes in the group stages. Concluding the day’s play would be Team Empire and Team Liquid, with Empire hoping to cause another upset and Liquid looking to continue their domination in Group B.

While Empire played a very patient and brilliant first game and took the series lead, that was the end of any sort of hope they had in the series. The final two games were over in under 20-minutes each, with game three lasting only 18-minutes before the GG calls came out. Liquid, seemingly at their best form in some time, managed to destroy Empire quickly and move themselves into a solid spot at the top of their group.

Tomorrow the action from Beyond Epic returns with the likes of Alliance facing up against NiP and B8 having their first showing at the event – which always could bring some excitement.
