Two grueling days of group stage action were seen from the Southeast Asian qualifiers for the DreamLeague Season 13 Major and with the group stages now over, four teams are in contention for the three available spots for the region.

One of the most unexpected and surprising things to come out from the SEA qualifiers was that of Reality Rift, a team featuring the very well-known Lee ‘kYxY’ Kong Yang. Coming into the qualifiers, nobody would have expected RR to shine but after two days of games, they would top group A. While Geek Fam were able to be the first team to take a game off RR earlier today, yesterday saw them stand toe-to-toe with TNC and register a 2-0 victory over the recent Major champions. However, even with this loss, TNC managed to regain their composure and make it through into second place of the group by winning a best-of-one tiebreaker. Unfortunately, this left Geek Fam, who had played extremely well in the qualifiers, to the Minor qualifiers once again.

In group B for the SEA region it would be Fnatic and Cignal Ultra who made their way into the playoffs. After their poor performance at MDL Chengdu, Fnatic would be hoping to make some headway into the season as they marched unbeaten into the playoffs, with no real problems in any of their series. While the group did feature the likes of Alpha x Hashtag and BOOM Esports, it was Cignal who managed to grab the secondary playoff spot and give themselves a shot at reaching the Leipzig Major.

Third place in each group get to move on to fight in the WePlay! Bukovel Minor qualifier for SEA but for Group B, the third place finisher would only be determined tomorrow between BOOM Esports and Sterling Global Dragons. Fourth place finishers in each group will battle against one another for a chance to reach the Minor qualifier. For TNC, RR, Fnatic and Cignal, tomorrow they will have to fight for the three available spots for SEA at the Major, while one will have to crawl through the Minor qualifier in hopes of reaching Leipzig in January 2020.
