In the midst of DOTA Summit Minor success, Quincy Crew still lose one of their players. Syed “SumaiL” Hassan departs from the carry role and ends the short-lived fans dream of having both he and his brother, Yawar “YawaR” Hassan playing on the same team.
After over four years spent at Evil Geniuses, SumaiL decided in the post TI9 shuffle to try something new in his career. He left the EG house and teamed up with YawaR, his older brother. The Quincy Crew squad featured him in the carry role and YawaR in the offlane and their start in the regional qualifiers for the first Major of the season was rather good. Quincy Crew reached the playoffs finals, but got defeated by the new Evil Geniuses roster and then bested once more, in the lower bracket finals, by J.Storm. Heading into the Minor qualifiers, the Hassan brothers team was unstoppable and secured themselves a spot at the Beyond the Summit event, which can potentially send them back to the Major.
However, according to Jack “KBBQ” Chen, the team manager, they realized that they have a “fit issue.” This was the first time when SumaiL was officially playing potion one on a team and also the first time when YawaR tried to stay in the offlane. He previously swapped between solo mid and carry and during the Forward Gaming times, he flourished into a strong position one player. Therefore, with SumaiL now departing, it is most likely that his brother will resume to the carry position as Quincy Crew are now actively looking for an offlane player.
DOTA Summit 11 Minor will take place November 7-10 which gives Quincy Crew a bit under one-month time to find a new member.
Quincy Crew current roster:
